Chase

We begin with desire, longing for God, healing, or something new.

This is the impulse that draws us toward God and toward transformation. We feel the ache of pursuit, wanting something from God, wanting something to change. Chase is honest, unvarnished desire.

Mark 2:1-2a

1When Jesus returned to Capernaum several days later, the news spread quickly that he was back home.

2 Soon the house where he was staying was so packed with visitors that there was no more room, even outside the door.

They hear that he is in town.

Their hearts turn toward their friend.

Four men, one for each corner,

Carry the friend, who couldn't carry himself.

Four friends and a man set out to…

Pursue the ONE who makes

Minds, spirits, and bodies whole.

To chase a miracle...

Such chase is honest, unvarnished desire,

Like an Olympian on the starting line,

Hearing the start pistol,

Set into motion relentlessly,

Dashing endlessly,

Quenchless until the

Object of one's pursuit is won…
